Sin at the
Ballot Box?

1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV) Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
This election is probably the most important election in American history. Is it possible to displease God by the way we vote? Is it possible to displease Him by not voting? I believe that the answer to both of these questions is "yes!"
The Bible teaches us that we are stewards appointed by God. A steward is one who takes care of another man's business or possessions. Our stewardship is reflected in the way we live our lives, how we spend our time, how we manage our money, and how we take care of the things that God has given us.
Our freedom is a gift from God! They have been preserved by courageous men and women for over 200 years! They have been given to us by God and passed on to us by our forefathers. We have a sacred responsibility to ensure that these freedoms are passed on to our children, grandchildren, and future generations.
Some people choose not to become involved in the electoral process. They argue that we should not be concerned with the things of this world. They also contend that we often do not have a good candidate, and that we have to choose between “the lesser of two evils.”
There probably never has been a perfect candidate because there are no perfect people. So we have to choose the best candidate available! If we do not vote we are abandoning our responsibilities as stewards over what God has given us!
How do we choose the best candidate available? As Christians we must choose the candidate whose views are closest to Biblical teaching. One of the candidates, who is the incumbent, supports abortion at any stage of the pregnancy. He also has endorsed same-sex marriage. He has also said that we should distance ourselves from Israel.
The other candidate does not endorse abortion. He defines marriage as the Scriptures defines it. He says that America must always be closely aligned with Israel!
God said that He would bless those that bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel! See Genesis 12:2, 3.
The President seems reluctant to condemn Islamic terrorists even after they have killed our ambassador, members of our embassy staff, and some of our soldiers at our embassy in Libya. He even blames the riots in Libya and Egypt, not on the terrorists, but on a video that someone made offending Muslims.
With these things in view the choice should be easy! I do not understand how Christians can vote for someone who believes that it is alright to take the life of a baby in the womb of his mother even in the final stages of the pregnancy. I cannot comprehend how Christians can vote for someone who endorses same-sex marriage when we have a candidate whose views on these matters are in agreement with Biblical teaching! I believe that if we do not vote for the best candidate available that we are failing in our Christian stewardship!
We must pray that God's will be done in this election! 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
