APOSTOLIC TEACHING : LEVEL CHANGE IN PERSONAL LIFE & DESTINY

Text  Question: What is the level change you have experienced in your personal life, destiny or ministry?

If you do not evaluate or diagnose your life like this you cannot move up in life. It is dangerous to live without change. “I have little thought to spare for a man who is the same today as he was yesterday” – Abraham Lincoln.

People that are evolving, developing, changing, transiting to other levels are the people worth to live. People with regular quest for transformation are habitually possessed people. They are changing in every sphere of life, they don’t discriminate. There is always a spring board on their heels, thus taking herculean task to capture them on their destination bug. A destiny that wants to spend three life times in ones complacent is the beginning of disaster.

People that frequently ask questions are in this class. Maxwell was able to write many books because he developed Thesis. Every thesis comes from one statement. There is no way you cannot get a thesis when you are fast in thinking. Genesis 22:4-5: reveals that within just few hours, Abraham was able to make positive choice and decision that changed his life forever. Quality choice and decision are what separate boys from men. Positive/Quality choice and decision bring changes to people overnight. Some people’s destinies are changed overnight by the quality choices and decisions they make.

Track your minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years with quality choices and decisions as sleeping and slurring all through the night while others are wrestling with the heaven could erode your destiny on daily basis.

Life is a race of winners, individuals are making decisions. In whatever you want to do, work hard to make your destiny productive. Using the night to pray; reading the scriptures daily; reading meaningful books daily, and living a focus and purposeful life are all decisions and choices of winners of life.

Choices and decisions rule life; therefore you need a strong will to make a right choice and decision for your life to move up. At this age of yours, if family meeting is scheduled for your service day and your interest is not considered, you are in trouble. If money determines your value, you are a failure. It is quality decision and choice that make a man. Check your values, your decisions and your choices; they are the things that make man in life. Choices are instruments that lay blocks on the edifice of life. Fasting, prayer, quality offering, and service to God are decisions worth making for who would be achievers in life. Running away from quality choices and decisions will certainly make your destiny colourless. If by now you are not known for something meaningful, it means people cannot know you for anything in life. The time to play is gone, if you play now, you will pay latter. No amount of makeup you put on at 50, your eyes will wrinkle.

Quality choices and high level decisions are very significant ingredients to water the growth of life. There are decisions you will make and your body will be begging for mercy. High quality destiny requires high quality decisions. Note that if you pay peanuts, monkeys will work for you just as you cannot get shark in shallow water. As much as you try to excuse yourself, your destiny is on downward trend and until you become brutal in your judgment about yourself; your destiny cannot become better. Don’t confer with blood and flesh, put yourself under; mortify your flesh.

For you to come out better than your colleagues with whom you entered the bedroom yester-night, make a quality choice and decisions overnight. When you are focused you become a focused individual and a celebrity. Make noise to capture your community because a quiet destiny cannot make a dreadful achievement. If you think a day is gone and you cannot meet it, you are deceitful; you will meet it in the future. Though the carcass of the day is gone, but the spirit of it is waiting in your future. 

 About Dr. James Akanbi

Pastor (Dr.) James Akanbi is the Founding General Overseer of God’s Mercy Revival Ministries (GOMERM), an international apostolic and prophetic ministry with the mission of “countering the devil’s revival at this end-time.” GOMERM has its international headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, with over 40 branches in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Ghana, Gambia, Republic of Benin and Canada.

Long before leaving his very successful accounting career to answer God’s call to full-time ministry in 1999, Dr. Akanbi had made his mark as an exemplary Christian youth leader in fellowships at some of Nigeria’s leading educational colleges and universities. These include the Divisional Teacher Training College, Ipetumodu where he was President of the Students Christian Movement Fellowship at just 19 years; and the College of Education, Oyo. Born in Ode Omu, a sleepy community in what is now present-day Osun State, South-Western Nigeria, Akanbi gave his life to Christ as a 17-year old boy. In barely six months of becoming a born-again, Akanbi finished his first complete reading of the Bible. He would repeat the exercise many times over within the first few years of his conversion. His fervent love and devotion to God’s word would mark the beginning of a remarkable teaching ministry several years later.

Some of the great ministers of God who significantly influenced Dr. Akanbi’s life and ministry include Bishop Caleb Oloyede, Presiding Pastor of Soul Winning Miracle Crusade, Ibadan, who preached the message that got him to give his life to Christ;  Pastor Williams Kumuyi, General Overseer, Deeper Life Bible Church; Apostle T. A. Adibite, a prophet and minister of the gospel who belonged to The Apostolic Church and  conducted Akanbi’s ordination when he launched into full-time ministry and the popular Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Others include Kenneth Haggins, Oral Roberts, Kathryn Kuhlman, and leadership expert, John Maxwell among others.

Aside being a voracious reader, Dr. Akanbi is also a prolific writer. He has authored about 20 books. Some of these include best-selling titles like Paralysing Devil’s Strategic Control,  Mystery of Believers’ Destiny, Battle for Inheritance, Empowered to Prosper and Unravelling the Mystery of Divine Selection.

Daily Pulpit, a daily devotional guide to contextual analysis of the scriptures,  which he writes, continues to be a must-read for many believers and families within and outside the ministry. Testimonies also continue to come in from Nigeria and overseas on how the devotional has been a blessing to many lives. In Dr. Akanbi’s words, the Daily Pulpit is ‘‘our Lord’s canteen where you can visit every morning for a solid food of the word of God.’’

He is an anointed preacher, an apostle, a prophet, a teacher, a seer, a church planter, a truly anointed man of God, a mentor to many and a philanthropist among others. He is also the Pro-Chancellor of Mercy School of Ministries (MSOM), the training arm of GOMERM which was set up to meet the immediate needs for ordination, orientation and church planting assignments in the ministry. The school, which  has been graduating students since 2004, runs certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses for workers and church leaders within and outside the church every year.

Dr. Akanbi is a recipient of academic degrees from Nigerian universities like  Abia State University, Uturu, University of Lagos, Akoka, and the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. He also studied at Life Theological Seminary of the Four Square Gospel Church in Nigeria, where he obtained his B.A. in Theology and holds a Doctorate in Church Growth and Ministry from Kingsway Christian College and Theological Seminary, Des Moines, Iowa, USA.

He hosts Empowered Destiny, a cable TV programme that airs to millions of peoplewithin and outside Nigeria.

Miracles, signs and wonders, breakthroughs and testimonies of diverse natures continue  to take place in the lives of God’s people through the  apostolic and prophetic ministry of Dr. Akanbi within and outside Nigeria. Long-standing barren cases have been shattered, years of stagnation have been destroyed, his prophecies to individuals, nations and on the international scene have enjoyed  uncommon accuracy, the poor have been made prosperous while many have been delivered from the demonic bondages through Dr. Akanbi’s ministry.
